DNF* - Watson received a puncture after 12 km and continued to run the cycle part of the race barefoot with bike on shoulder. Whilst this disqualified his cycle time and overall time, his times in both the swim and run were ruled to be legal and within competition rules.

A triathlon is a multi-sport endurance event consisting of swimming, cycling and running in immediate succession. In order to attract people of all abilities, the 2010 Horley Triathlon will be the recognised Sprint Triathlon distance of a 750 metre swim, a 20km cycle and a 5km run - a comfortable distance for people of all shapes and sizes whilst offering true athletes an opportunity to stretch their legs and set record times.

The swim will take place at the Horley Anderson centre where entrants will complete 30 lengths of the pool. On completing the swim, they will immediately jump on their bikes for the 20km cycle taking riders out to Copthorne before racing home down the Balcombe Road and beginning their run up towards Smallfield and through Langshott before returning to the Oakwood School for the finish line.

Entrants will be split into groups based on ability so you will be amongst people of a similar standard. Once everyone has finished, there will be prizes for Fastest Male, Fastest Female, Fastest Swim, Fastest Cycle, and Fastest Run. All entrants will receive a medal to commemmorate their achievement.

The cost to enter the Horley Triathlon is just £40. However, if you would like to raise sponsorship, the entry fee will be waived on achieving £200 in sponsorship. All proceeds and sponsorship money will go towards the development of facilities for Horley RFC and vital equipment purchases needed to facilitate the growth of the club.
