Training

Horley RFC enjoy the social side of rugby and realise that the pressures of work and family commitments can prevent people from training twice a week. However, we take our rugby seriously on the field and the best way to improve as a team and as individuals, whilst keeping fit and healthy, is to train once in a while.

Training takes place at the Oakwood School Playing Fields or inside Oakwood Sports Centre every Thursday evening during the season. Rather than running the same drills every week, we vary training so that all of the fundamental skills are covered whilst having a bit of fun and ensuring that general fitness is optimised.

If you have any queries regarding training, please call Jon on 07778 619566 or e-mail us and we'll be happy to answer your questions..

Training conitnues every Thursday throughout the season under floodlights at the Oakwood Playing Fields. Please try to come along and make the most of your club whilst improving your skills and having a mid-week run about.

During the Summer months, we will continue to meet every Thursday evening at Oakwood from 7.30pm to play touch rugby. This is a perfect opportunity for newcomers to meet some of the members and try out the game without the contact. It's also a great way to learn and improve some of the basic skills whilst keeping fit in the off-season.

Pre-season training will begin mid-August.
