Welcome to Horley Rugby Club

SUSSEX 3 CHAMPIONS 2009 / 2010

TEAM OF THE YEAR 2010

Welcome to Horley RFC – the newest rugby club in the South East!
Horley has a population of over 22,000 and the town play’s host to more than a dozen amateur football teams, so it is astounding that this vibrant Surrey town has never had a rugby club – until now.
Horley RFC was set up by three rugby-playing friends, who have a passion for playing grass roots rugby, coupled with pride in our home town and a desire to see this popular and thrilling sport played locally.
As our club motto says, great oaks grow from small acorns, and our aspirations for Horley Rugby Club are to build a thriving club that will be enjoyed by thousands of local rugby players and supporters for generations to come. All clubs have to start somewhere and after three years of rapid development, we now run two senior men's teams (age 17 upwards) and a mini's section for children aged 6-11 years old. However, it is our firm intention to continue to build on this and we hope that we will soon be running many more teams across different age groups as well as a ladies side.
We are a very sociable club and welcome new players of all standards to join us. Whether you are a complete novice or a seasoned veteran, your interest in the game and desire to play are all that matter to us, and we are sure that you will find our club one of the most welcoming and friendly in the country. In addition to Horley itself, we are also the closest rugby club to Gatwick Airport and we aim to attract players from the multitude of businesses related to the airport. So even if you work shifts and can’t commit to every Saturday, we understand the pressures of modern life and value all of our members, so we can plan around your availability.
Whether you get involved in the playing or social side of Horley RFC, you will be joining one of the friendliest clubs around – and what’s more, I will personally buy all new members a drink at one of our favourite local pubs!
We look forward to welcoming you to the club.
